Major activities include Open House, an Arts and Academic Festival, and Generation Day and Mass (all generations connected with the school are invited in).

Walk On Waconia
This event takes place in early summer and is hosted by St. Joseph Parish as a collaborative effort between all of the Churches in Waconia to raise food and awareness for the Waconia United Food Shelf. The walk takes place around beautiful Lake Waconia and includes a 10 mile walk for the serious walkers and a shorter, fun, family walk as well. Rest stops along the way are hosted by volunteers from each of the various church communities. This year, in its first year, over 200 enthusiastic participants weathered stormy skies to participate in the event.
3 on 3 Basketball Tournament
Each September on Nickle Dickle Day (Waconia’s celebration day) St. Joseph School’s Athletic Association hosts this basketball tournament. Many teams participate to make this a fun event. Proceeds from this event benefit the school’s athletic program.
Fall Festival
In the Fall our parish hosts a Fall Festival. There are many events including a Harvest Mass, Raffle, Silent Auction, Bingo, Pull Tabs, Pork Chop Dinner, Street Dance, Beer Garden, etc. For the kids, there are Carnival Games, Magic Show and More! All parishioners are asked to contribute to the success of the Fall Festival by volunteering and by making donations. Please join us for this fun day!
Service Marathon
Every October, the St. Joseph School community participates in the Marathon for Nonpublic Education fundraiser that has been sponsored by the Knights of Columbus since 1971. However, in keeping with our Christian values, the traditional walk/bike marathon was changed (in 2003) into a Service Marathon. Students in grades K-8 perform acts of community service for the elderly and physically challenged in our community.
Our purpose in participating in this marathon is to give witness to St. Joseph School's spirit of giving oneself to God and those in need; Enjoy the camaraderie of student and adult teammates, family and community; And,raise funds for the school budget. This annual marathon is St. Joseph School's highest grossing fundraiser.
This years Service Marathon theme is "Hearts to God and Hands to Help". The marathon is conducted in October. The day will begin with Mass, followed by our School community service projects of raking and bagging fallen leaves for the elderly and physically challenged as well as participating in a food drive for the Waconia Food Shelf. We will end the day with lunch and an afternoon celebration!
