Respect Life
St. Joseph’s Respect Life Committee promotes respect for the protection of all human life from the moment of conception until natural death. One of our primary goals is education for the Parish and for our students. In addition, we also coordinate with Birthright in Waconia to help those in need to find resources, clothing, and support.

We sponsor a variety of activities such as hosting Birthright Baby Showers, organizing a bus from St. Joseph to the annual MCCL March for Life at the State Capital, once a month prayers at an abortion clinic, and organizing pamphlets and resources in the Narthex for those who want more information. January and October are designated as Pro-Life months and during these times we coordinate speakers for Church and Faith Formation classes. In the past we hosted a MCCL Pro-Life Evenings which have presented facts on Embryonic stem-cell research, taxpayer funding of abortion, Euthanasia of disabled persons, Human cloning, and abortion on demand.

We have currently finished erecting a memorial to the unborn child. It was created and designed to honor and remember all unborn babies. The Knights of Columbus funded the memorial and Dan Steinhagen coordinated the project and donated the granite. Mel Giese of Memorial Stone Sales donated his time in setting up the monument to get it etched and cut by following the design proposed by the Pro-Life Committee. Jason Burg and his crew from Cities Masonry Restoration donated their time, talent and materials by framing the monument in brick.

The Respect Life Committee is open to all. We meet the last Sunday of each month after the 8:30 am Mass in the church basement. You are welcome to drop by and join us, or for more information contact:
